Local student art project turns a gray B-cycle into an unique, eye-catching fun bike.
Each time this bike is ridden a portion of the proceeds go back to Cristo Rey High School.
Students at Cristo Rey High School
in Midtown recently spent a lot of time turning one of our gray B-cycles into a very special and eye-catching art bike. Kansas City B-cycle is donating a portion of this bike's usage fees back to the school.
About the project
Every student at Cristo Rey works one day a week to help earn half the cost of their education. Over the last few years BikeWalkKC and Kansas City B-cycle have hosted several work-study students. Most recently they kicked off the art bike project by completely disassembling a B-cycle and stripping the frame of its regular paint. Then art students at Cristo Rey got to work with their brushes and paint to create the most unique bike in our bike share fleet.
Check out this bike
The Cristo Rey bike is now out on the streets of KC and ready for you to ride! Each time someone rides this bike we will donate a portion of the usage fees back to Cristo Rey. So keep an eye out for the bike. It could be at any of our 28 B-stations between the River Market and Waldo.
